And even though the [stock market](https://www.barrons.com/articles/stocks-bear-market-rally-51652814286NASDAQ) has rallied somewhat in recent days, analysts are not confident that the gains will last, but rather further entrench a bear market with still lower prices ahead.   ### **A Property Investment Surge** Property on the other hand is enjoying a robust post-pandemic surge. Factors contributing to this activity include the increase in house sales for the relocating to Zoom towns and generally upgrading homes into work-home spaces. First-time buyers enthused by interest rates which reached a 50-year low were also among the sectors that contributed to the upsurge. FNB housing statistics report that the percentage of homeowners who planned to upgrade rose from 8% in Q2 2020 to a significant increase of 17% in Q1 2021.
